Why get a skid steer ticket? According to the 2022 Major Project Pipeline Report, there is $71 billion worth of project infrastructure work planned in the next 5 years in Queensland alone. That is going to require moving a lot of dirt! Much of this work is being conducted in SEQ, with projects such as the GC Light Rail extension and the Coomera Connector.
This handy 1 day skid steer course, sometimes referred to as a ‘Bobcat’, a popular manufacturer, is designed to ensure that participants have the skills and knowledge required to conduct skid steer loader operations. Learn in a simulated construction site but a controlled environment, at our training yard at Stapylton. Off the M1, Yatala North exit halfway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane near the end of the Logan Motorway.

Skid Steer Ticket Course Overview
This skid steer course overview describes the skills and knowledge required operate a skid steer loader to load, haul and distribute materials.
This unit applies to those working in site based roles.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit. In Queensland, there is no licensing requirement to operate a skid steer. As such competence in this unit (code RIIMPO318F) will allow a competent person to operate a skid steer in Queensland. Upon successful completion of this unit, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment and a card issued by On the Job Training (RTO 70023) to prove competence on sites.
This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.

- Provide 100 Points of identification (as per Workplace Health and Safety Queensland requirements)
- Ability to read, write & understand English
What to Bring

- Steel cap Boots
- Safety gloves
- Hi-Visibility shirt and hard hat with a brim
- Suitable outdoor work clothing (no singlets)
- Lunch and water bottle
- If applicable, any evidence of prior experience e.g old certificates
- USI Number (Find My USI)
Additional Information
Course days typically run from 6.30am to approximately 3.00pm - Participants are advised to arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.
*Please note you may be required to start before 6.30am and stay after 3.00pm depending on course timings.
