Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations - RIIHAN309F

Telehandler Training Course Overview:

This telehandler training describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct telescopic materials handler operations.

This unit applies to those working in site-based roles.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit. In Queensland, there is no licensing requirement to operate a telehandler. As such competence in this unit (code RIIHAN309F) will allow a competent person to operate a telehandler in Queensland.  However, to operate a telehandler with forks in Queensland, will require a forklift high risk work licence (LF class).  To operate a telehandler with a slewing jib over 3 tonnes in Queensland, will require the operator to hold a slewing mobile crane licence (C2, C6, C1 or C0 classes).

Upon successful completion of this unit, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment and a card issued by On the Job Training (RTO 70023) to prove competence on sites.

This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.
